Board Members and Officers

Board membership is voluntary, and we actively welcome volunteers for board service, with options to serve on committees, or as directors, if elected by the process outlined in the Bylaws.

Refer to Election page for additional information regarding current year EFBOA Board Election.

A member need not serve as a board member to serve on a committee, and the Board welcomes all volunteers.

If you are interested, please CONTACT the EFBOA Board that explains your interest in helping Fish Bay become an even better place to be.

Officers and Board of Directors:

May 2029  Lanny Roberts, President

Jon Roll.jpg

May 2028  Jon Roll, Secretary

Jon, now retired, lived in Boston for 40 years and ran a small Graphic Design firm in Harvard Square.  He vacationed in the Virgin Islands for several years and moved permanently into Fish Bay in 2021 with his partner, Nancy Grayhek, who has lived on St John since 2001.  Following retirement, he took up a lifelong interest in Archaeology, doing coursework and traveling extensively in Mexico and Central America as well as participating in the excavation of a Maya site in Guatemala. He looks forward to visits from his two daughters and three grandchildren who wing in from Massachusetts and England from time to time.  Jon was elected to the EFBOA Board in 2022 and is now serving as Secretary, responsible for communications with the Fish Bay community, as well as supervising the Annual Election.  He hopes to see Fish Bay grow and prosper as a community dedicated to the stewardship of the natural environment and the preservation of the wetlands.

Tammy Ahles.jpg

May 2027  Tammy Ahles, Treasurer

Tammy and her husband Craig have been traveling to St John for over 12 years. They fell in love with the island from the moment they stepped off the ferry in Cruz Bay.  They purchased their home in Fish Bay, Turtle’s Nest, in November of 2018 and use is as a short-term vacation rental when they are not on island themselves.  Fish Bay was their first choice in finding a home on St. John because of the community and people who live there and care so much about the island. When they retire, they plan to spend most of their time one island when not at their home in PA. Tammy, Craig, and their dog Abby live in the State College area. When not working they love to spend time with their daughter Katlyn, granddaughter Bella or in their favorite place St. John.  Tammy works for the American Cancer Society and is currently the Chief of Staff for the Northeast Region. She is responsible for leading fundraising and operations strategy within the 13 state Northeast Region.  She joined the American Cancer Society in October of 2008.  Tammy joined the board in 2023, as interim director and is now serving as Treasurer.  She hopes to help the board and the Fish Bay community continue to prosper while protecting the precious beauty and nature of the island.

Alex Anns.jpg

May 2028  Alex Anns, Director & Communications Support

Alex is based in Pennsylvania with her husband and two small children. Her primary role is staying home with the kids but is taking on more as they have entered early school years. She manages the family construction business financials. In addition, as owner of Villa Hermosa in Fish Bay, she runs the villa as a vacation rental from afar with a great on-island team. She enjoys all things St. John but when not on island she stays connected through managing the vacation rental and being active on social media. When home in PA she enjoys boating with her family, hiking, being outdoors, skiing, cooking, going to the kids sporting events, being with family & friends. She has been vacationing in the Virgin Islands for the better part of the last 2 decades. Lived on St. John with her husband from 2015-2017, returning to the states to start a family and be closer to family. Alex, her husband and in-laws purchased Villa Hermosa in 2021 and have been in the Fish Bay community for 3 years. Alex accepted a position on the EFBOA Board of Directors in hopes to meet more people in the neighborhood, be more connected to Fish Bay & the island, share a presence as an owner based in the states, and make a positive improvement & change to the community & island.

Jenn Manes.png

May 2027  Jenn Manes, Director

Jenn Manes moved to St. John from Connecticut more than 10 years ago. She launched News of St. John, an online blog geared toward tourists in 2013, and was the owner and publisher until it was sold in 2020. During that time, she created St. Johnopoly, a Monopoly-type board game that was customized for the island of St. John. Jenn has provided in-person island tours since 2017 and launched Explore STJ, a newer online blog for tourists in 2022. Jenn purchased 93 Fish Bay with Mike Hedy in August 2023. If you happen to have driven by over the past few months, you may have seen her five-year-old Dalton playing in the yard or saying hello to passersby. Dalton is a kindergartener at Gifft Hill School.

May 2028  Matt Schnell, Director

My name is Matthew Schnell and I am currently building a family home in Fish Bay. I have been a resident on St. John for almost 20 years and am very fortunate to be able to finally build a place to call home for myself, my wife and two children. My children are 10 and 12 and have a lot of friends in the neighborhood as we lived in Fish Bay a few years back. We are very excited to be back in Fish Bay, for the long haul. I have been part of the construction community for as long as I have lived here and am willing to give a helping hand when and where I can.

Bobi Stallbaumer.jpg

May 2029  Bobi Stallbaumer, Director

My name is Bobi Lee Stallbaumer. I am 19-year resident of St. John and a 14 year resident of Fish Bay. My husband
Robert and I purchased 55 Fish Bay in 2019 after renting it for a number of years. I am originally from a very small town
in North Eastern Colorado. In 2007, I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in
Landscape Horticulture with an emphasis in Design & Contracting. I established my Landscaping business Agave Design
Group, Inc. in 2009 in St. John. I am a life long plant and animal lover.
I’d like to join the EFBOA Board to do my part in making sure Fish Bay continues to be the best community on St. John. I
have witnessed considerable growth and growing pains in my time living in Fish Bay. I feel we are at a unique time in our
community’s growth to make a difference. Over the last several years seeing our community flourish with all the kids out
and about playing and exploring has made me realize how unique Fish Bay is as a community on St. John. I feel as home
owners and stewards of the land we all need to do our part to make sure our unique little island community stays safe
and well maintained for future generations to enjoy it as much as we do.

May 2029  Mike Dickinson, Director

Mike is originally from New York. He came to St John in 2000 to build a home for his employer and after completing it,
decided he loved the island and wanted to stay awhile longer. He continued working and building homes as a concrete
contractor for the last two decades and continues that work to this day. He purchased parcel 110 in Fish Bay after
deciding that he wanted to build a home on St John to live in for the rest of his life. Mike joined the Board because he
knows many people in Fish Bay, both acquaintances and friends, and would like to be part of the community.

Colette Rethage.jpg

May 2027  Colette Rethage, Director

After many years visiting from Pennsylvania where she taught high school English, Colette Rethage moved to St. John in
2004 and began her island ice cream journey. I Scream! first opened in town and then also in Wharfside Village with soft
serve, coffee, and smoothies. St. John Scoops debuted in 2014 in Mongoose Junction, featuring homemade ice cream,
soft serve, coffee, smoothies, and many other sweet treats. Most mornings you can find Colette making the ice cream
and waffle cones at Scoops. In March 2023 she purchased Treetops on Pelican Drive and renamed it Stowaway Fish Bay.
